Nasjonalmuseet

Oslo, Norway—2026—Cotton, silk & paper
The place

The national museum of art, architecture and design, on the Oslo fjord.

Two works from the collection, two ways of translating them, and a box in the colour of the water outside.

01Skrik
The Skrik scarf held wide by the Nasjonalmuseet — Munch’s image in blue on cream cotton, with a green edge, against the Oslo waterfront
The Skrik bandana loosely draped — Munch’s image in blue on cream cotton, green edge
The Skrik scarf in the orange colourway, laid flat — Munch’s image at full intensity on cream cotton
All four Skrik colourways together — yellow, blue, orange and green — each set against its contrasting rolled edge
The Skrik scarf folded flat — Munch’s expressionist image in blue and cream, the horizontal stripe composition visible front and back, with a green rolled edge

Edvard Munch (1863–1944) — Skrik. The piece every visitor comes to see.

Fiol set the intensity of that universally known image against a run of four playful colours: red, yellow, green, blue.

100% cotton. A classic bandana — hand-finished.

02Musikkinteriør
The Musikkinteriør silk scarf draped, Asta Nørregaard's painted interior within a printed border
The Musikkinteriør scarf worn as a headscarf, with a matching tote, against the Oslo skyline
The full Musikkinteriør scarf — Nørregaard's 1885 music-room interior on silk within a foliage border
The Musikkinteriør scarf folded to show the interior painting’s lower section — rich room detail in ochre and teal, pink hand-rolled edge
Corner detail of the Musikkinteriør scarf — teal border meeting the pink hand-rolled edge, "Nasjonalmuseet" label

Asta Nørregaard (1853–1933) — Musikkinteriør. The museum brings lesser-seen artists forward; her 1885 interior is one of them.

A music room interior from 1885 — intimate, still. Printed on silk for the exhibition, set within a border like a painting in its frame.

03Packaging
The Nasjonalmuseet gift box in fjord blue — a silk-finish square box with embossed museum mark, on warm oak

The box is part of the object.

The museum sits at the Oslo Fjord. The packaging colour comes from there — Fiol calls it Fjord Blue.

A rigid square box in silk-finish card, colour-matched to the Oslo fjord. The museum's mark on the lid.
