The Paris Atelier — AHLEM's Saint-Germain space, and the origin of the commission.
9 Rue du Dragon. A quiet room of light, frames, and considered objects. The Atelier is where AHLEM's identity lives at full resolution — and the starting point for a scarf that asks what the space would look like if left to grow.
AHLEM is an independent eyewear house, founded in Paris and stocked worldwide. The commission: a limited-edition scarf for the brand's Paris Atelier — the space itself turned into an object for the people who find it there.
The source is an illustration by Kyutae Lee (Kokooma), a Korean artist working in colored pencil and ink. The work imagines the Atelier after nature's quiet return: wildflowers and climbing plants moving through the space, small animals settling in, the façade opening into forest. Drawn from Japanese forest aesthetics — architecture and wilderness held in equilibrium, the building becoming a threshold rather than a boundary.
Illustration to silk: fine detail held at print scale, the depth of the drawing intact at 55 × 55 cm.
Printed on Italian silk, hand-rolled edges. Limited edition of 100, with custom packaging. 2025.
